March – Goldman Sachs – According to regulatory filings, RawStory.com has found that Goldman Sachs sold 4,680,822 shares of BP in the first quarter of 2010. Goldman’s sales were the largest of any firm during that time. Goldman would have pocketed slightly more than $266 million if their holdings were sold at the average price of BP’s stock during the quarter
March 17 – Tony Hayward – Since he disposed of 223,288 shares on March 17, the company’s share price has fallen by 30 per cent.
April 20, 9:45 p.m. CDT – the BP Deepwater Horizon oil platform exploded in fire.

Jim the Wonder Dog
A short “tail” of my life

Jim was a Llewellyn setter born of pureblood champion field stock in Louisiana. Though his litter mates were selling for $25 each, a goodly sum in 1925, he was considered the most unlikely of the litter and came into Sam VanArsdale’s hands for less than half that amount. Attempts to train Jim for the field seemed futile as he lay in the shade watching while the trainer worked with the three other dogs. However, when taken to the field that fall for the first time, he immediately went to a covey of quail, came up on perfect point, held steady until the quail was shot, and immediately brought the bird to Mr. VanArsdale on the order to “fetch”. He proved to be a marvelous hunting dog, knowing where there were quail, and refusing to hunt where there were none. His master, an avid hunter who traveled from state to state hunting, kept track of birds shot over his beloved dog. He stopped counting at 5,000, a total no other dog ever reached. Outdoor Life Magazine termed him “The Hunting Dog of the Country”.

The Pixies will not be performing a scheduled date in Tel Aviv this summer, AP reported Sunday. The band released an announcement through a publicist this weekend informing fans that “with great regret” it has decided not to make the trip to Israel. The concert was part of the band’s sizable summer tour, which will soon take them to Italy, New Zealand, and back to the U.S. for more than a dozen dates.
News of the cancellation follows last week’s raid by the Israeli military against an aid flotilla bound for Gaza, which killed nine pro-Palestine activists. However, the Pixies’ publicist in Israel, Shuki Weiss, did not name the raid — or anything else — as the reason for the cancellation.
Despite the political unrest in the region, performers including Elton John and Rod Stewart still plan to play Israel this summer, according to AP.
