Derek James

Derek comes from a vast musical background having picked up numerous instruments and performed in a variety of bands. When it comes to the dance floor, he brings to life a steady vibe drenched in progressive, deep funk, and house music. Derek is a graduate of both the Recording Arts (AS) and Music Business (BS) degree programs at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL. Derek has been dj’ing for several years and has recently found his place in the production studio. His partnership with Dustin Skiles in 2008 earned him a co-residency at Orlando’s roof top club Sky60. In the spring of 2008, he played bass and electric guitar for the Dustin Skiles remix of “You Don’t Need It” by Micali, Wasley, & Ajami which is out now on the legendary Caffeine Recordings label. Recently Derek has teamed up with Grammy nominated producer and owner of the dance label Sunkissed Records, Bill Hamel. With Hamel, Derek has had his hand in many different projects including a remix of U2′s “Magnificent”, two tracks for Konami Games’ “Dance Dance Revolution”, and a remix for UK producer Stuart Price (aka Thin White Duke, aka Jaques Lu Cont). Also, Hamel and James joined forces in the studio in late 2009 to complete an original piece for Glenn Morrisson and the Global Underground dance/electronica compilation series. That is the tip of the ice burg and we can expect to keep hearing great things from this up and coming producer.

“Mothers, lock up your children; fathers, lock up your beer…” So begins Bad Blood and Brushfire, the debut album from Boston based electro-pop quartet Provocateur. Featuring the sly, sultry vocals and darkly witty wordplay of frontman Matthew Connor, and anchored by the sinuous, silky synths and beats of Stacia Tucker, Provocateur have crafted a sound that is sexy, smooth, and polished to an electric sheen by producer Jeremy Page of That Handsome Devil. Including twelve irresistibly danceable tracks about addictive love, sexual confusion, and Twitter-generation aimlessness, Bad Blood and Brushfire draws on diverse sounds ranging from Depeche Mode to The Faint to Justin Timberlake to create a seductively brooding, yet immediate pop sound.

Matthew and Stacia are joined on stage by the debonair yet dangerous Adam Hodges on the bass and the ever charming Berklee grad Chris Lampner on the drums. With festival appearances, headlining gigs, and opening slots for artists such as Client, IAMX, Freezepop, and My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, their high-energy performances have won over fans and filled dance floors throughout New England.

Over-caffeinated and dazed, awake without a want, time brings about a collection of schizophrenic pieces crossing the calm ambience of soulful eastern soundscapes. Surviving the fall of many genres of electronica, never leaving behind his roots, Saad has managed to take the best from the past, while pushing the envelope of the underground sound into the future. Working in the past veins of breaks, new wave, progressive house, down-tempo, this genre-bending experience has proven to be the most-valuable for Saad, in his creation to push music to provocative extremes, all the whilst maintaining originality, quality and emotion that lets any listener know: “This is Saad.”

After many years of listening to, and mixing music; I’ve started a new quest to create music. Most of my tracks start with a simple melody that echoes in my head for days; add a little this, a little that and before you know it things start to take shape.

My main influences come from growing up in Orlando where I quickly got hooked into the “club” scene in the early to late 90′s. It was a blast to watch greats like Kimball Collins, D-Extreme, DJ Stylus, AK 1200, DJ Icey and so many more who turned usual nights into great ones.

Now as I  get a little older I feel that the “vibe” is still in me, and I feel the best way to express it will always be through music.

Music is my passion and its great to share my music with the world. I feel that my music is difficult to fit into a specific genre, that is why most descriptions are broad.  Nothing feels better than to see a comment on my songs whether good or bad from somewhere in the world.

Pronounced “Enlighten”, veteran DJ Lenny Sosa has been making his mark throughout the east coast since 1997, playing numerous clubs, bars, parties, raves, events, and internet radio shows. Most known for his epic Breakbeat sets, NLYTN has such an eclectic taste in music that his signature stamp can be heard throughout many genres within the electronic music scene.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of all different kinds of music and became consumed with these sub-genres of house. I ended up falling in love with music and DJing all over again” says NLYTN. With this love began a new venture for the DJ, taking his knowledge and experience in the industry to a higher level when he created Mixtill6.com – a forum where DJs, producers, promoters, and supporters could go to showcase their sets, production, and post parties. “I was psyched to be able to give artists and other music lovers the ability to download new material, give feedback and most importantly embrace the music! Mixtill6.com has been constantly evolving into bigger things. We even had ‘Mixtill6 Radio’ which was an internet radio station that ran for 2 years with shows being broadcast from various locations across the globe. D-Lux cites her initial inspiration for jumping on the decks after witnessing dj greats Danny Howells, Dixon, Martin Landsky & Sebo K. D-Lux has a refreshing style that delights the senses and takes partygoers on musical journey that keeps them dancing until dawn. D-Lux has played at some of the best clubs in Boston including Estate, Phoenix Landing, as well as made appearances at the infamous late-night member’s only club, Rise.

Zanex Dissociation began rapping over instrumentals in 2007, using the stage name “Zanex”. In 2008, he began learning how to utilize different software applications such as reason and fl studio to compose his own beats for hip hop. It was a couple more months before he mastered the production techniques that led him to move on to make more electronic style dance music starting with “Dissociation”, the first dance track he produced in July 2008.
